Installation Steps |
||
Installation of Java Runtime Environment 1) Go to Sun Java Microsystems website and download J2RE installation file or simply click on the link provided: http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp 2) Double-click on the downloaded J2RE setup package and then click on "Run" button. 3) Select "accept the terms in the license agreement", followed by clicking on "Next" button 4) After installation, please follow instructions below to enable the Sun JRE. Launch the Internet Explorer browser.
Installation of Web EQ browser Control 5) Click on the link provided to download a copy of WebEQ Applet Jar file from Design Science Inc 6) Place the downloaded WebEQ Applet file into the following directory:
Installation of Maths Player 7) Click on the link provided to download a copy of Maths Player: http://www.dessci.com/en/dl/MathPlayerSetup.asp 8) Double click on the downloaded installation package file. The following dialog box will appear. 9) Click on "Run" button 10) Click on "Next" Button. 11) Accept the agreement and click on "Next" button. 12) Once installation is completed, the following notification box will appear. Close the Internet Explorer and re-launch Internet Explorer to allow the new settings to take into effect.
Testing of Installation 13) Verify that Maths Player is installed successfully by clicking on the link provided, it will report the version currently installed on your computer. Test your installation here 14) Verify that Web EQ applet is running properly by clicking on the link provided, it will show a quadratic equation. Test your Web EQ applet here |
